The guided tour of building the red and tan train set is coming to an end.  I hope you’ve learned a few tips and tricks that apply to whatever train you build next. I look forward to seeing what you build at LEGO Factory.

Just One more Tip
Let’s look at one more tip.  Two-axle cars work well built on a standard 6x16 stud plate.  Eight studs, that’s the maximum distance between the wheels if they don’t pivot, else the wheel flanges begin to bind against the rails of a piece of curved track (see Figure 13).  Spacing the wheels greater than 8 studs will result in a poorly running train, derailments, and stress on the train motor.
