The new Star Wars episodes in the mid-1990s were Jeramy’s reason for starting to design LEGO models again. Seeing the fantastic spaceship designs reminded him of his LEGO bricks from years ago, and searching around in catalogs got him hooked.

But not on spaceships. It was LEGO trains that he went for big time. Jeramy comes from Indianapolis, Indiana and like other AFOLs who live in places with very few passenger trains; Jeramy was inspired to build freight, rather than passenger trains.

"It’s the creative element for me," he explains. "Just being able to build whatever you want." Jeramy spends about five to ten hours a week with his LEGO designs, and says that the driving force for him is his local club, IndyLUG – the Indiana LEGO Users Group, of which he was President a few years ago.

Together with other members, he travels to community events – especially those organized by the National Model Railroad Association. He’s been to Cincinnati, Philadelphia, and this year will be going to Detroit.

Jeramy now concentrates exclusively on Indiana trains, and Monon diesel engines are one of his favorites. Monon is a major Indiana passenger railroad that – sadly – is no longer in use, but Jeramy keeps its spirit alive with his models. In fact, his dream is to build an exact replica of downtown Indianapolis, complete with Union Station, track and trains.

He was honored to be invited to design for the Hobby Train Box, and says he feels "very lucky" to have had his two freight engines chosen – the Hi Nose diesel and switcher models. He keeps in touch with "regular" Monon model train fans, and is probably the only LEGO fan on their mailing list!
